We rarely speak of sustainability—not because it is not important to us, but because it is inherently woven into everything we do. For us, working in harmony with the world around us is second nature. Our true motivation is simple: to create a better world for ourselves and for the generations to come. One workpiece at a time. Room by room.
With our wood waste and solar power system, we heat and supply over 500 households in our region.
Our photovoltaic systems boast a peak output of approximately 1.3 megawatts, currently meeting around 40% of our annual energy needs—with expansion plans already underway. In the coming years, we are committed to achieving complete environmental sustainability and CO₂ neutrality. By 2030, our goal is to become fully energy self-sufficient.
For over 25years, we have played a key role in supplying the biomass heating plants in Fladnitz and Passail with wood waste from our production—meeting our own heating needs in the process. This system provides carbon-neutral heating to approximately 500 households.
The majority of the wood processed by Josef Göbel is sourced from local sawmills. This not only minimizes transportation distances but also allows us to consistently rely on our partners to ensure that the raw materials for our spaces meet the highest quality standards.
Josef Göbel is frequently on the move, but always with the environment in mind. For instance, we provide our employees with electric vehicles for carpooling, and the e-charging station in Fladnitz is powered directly by electricity generated from our rooftop.
We make strategic investments where they have the greatest impact: for example, our extraction system is equipped with heat recovery technology. Additionally, we’ve converted all our lighting to energy-efficient LEDs, integrated with a system that ensures they are only on when needed.
Sustainable practices are an ongoing journey. With both significant strides and small adjustments, we are making a meaningful difference—not just for ourselves and our customers, but also for the environment. Our goal is to ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy and benefit from the world around them.
„Being sustainable is an ongoing process that we are continuously working to advance—not for our own benefit, but for the generations to come.”
We're thinking about tomorrow.
By nature.
